I’m late I know! I have been especially busy, which is good! But it means I almost didn’t have time to post… Let me tell you why I started Rae Likes Froot
I’ve always been very confused about my life. Even when I was in college studying a specific subject, I still didn’t know what I wanted to do when I left the clutches of education for good. I know what you’re thinking, “oh but Rae, everyone feels that way at some point in their life” well I was feeling like that when was 17… I’m now 24 and not much has changed.
I still feel lost and confused. But starting this blog has helped me to feel a little less lost and confused. I’m not especially great at writing (you may be able to tell) and I didn’t take any crazy courses to learn how to set up my blog.
Rae Likes Froot is a blog born out of anxiety, passion and confusion. A kind of 3 way marriage if you will and if I can do it, anyone can do it.
Anxiety played it’s part by making me feel so on edge every day to the point where I would have daily melt down’s about my future, this went on for about 2 months.
My Passion for this lifestyle has driven me to come up with new weekly posts, twice a week. I have never started something and carried it on for this amount of time before, so I give myself a pat on the back for that one!
And confusion became the third wheel of the driving force behind the blog. Like I said earlier, I have always been confused about my path in life, specifically my career path and now I have a clearer image of what I want to do.
Back in May I had somewhat of a quarter life crisis, it suddenly dawned on me that I had been floating trough life, stressing about what was happening in the moment and not thinking enough about my future.
I never went to uni and my parents never steered me into a particular career path. I’m not blaming them, just would have been nice to have had a push around the age of 10…
I became Vegan last November, and have been extremely passionate about the lifestyle ever since, I wanted to create a space where people who were considering veganism could come and get advice from someone who has made the transition. As well as it being a fun place where I post things about lifestyle, food and beauty.
Basically so that people can realise that there is no reason to be afraid of going vegan
Writing a blog is hard, especially if you want to post weekly like I do and even more so if It’s twice a week! I can’t imagine how it must be for people who post daily.
But I love it I never thought that I could become this passionate about writing, I feel like when I write I am talking to a friend and it gives me a place to share all my experiences with this lifestyle, since I don’t have any vegan friends in real life! #lonelyvegan
I don’t have a fancy camera or an expensive laptop, anyone can start a blog you just need a subject to write about, and some motivation to keep at it. When I wrote my first ever post Brighton Blues and Great Vegan Food I knew instantly that I wanted to make this a career, and I know it will take a long time to build the blog to where I want it to be, but writing makes me feel in control of my life. I don’t just see it as a hobby or a potential career, it is a way to motivate people into making better life choices that will benefit not only the 70 billion animals that so desperately need help but it will also benefit their health and the environment.
And If through this Blog I can motivate just 1 person to make those life changes. Then I’m happy.
Please like, share and follow my blog for updates! I post new lifestyle articles every Tuesday and new Debatable’s/Eat of the Week’s every Friday
